The newer versions of BOINC 8.0.x will now detect AVX 512 capable CPU's and of course the NFS project has applications to match. Perhaps you might want to consider updating your BOINC client. In October 1969 I took an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; There was no expiration date.

How can I know if a task is using AVX-512? My new main computer is compatible but I don't know if my tasks are really being processed with AVX-512. Also, how big is the speed bump compared to more regular instructions? |

In reply to Alan St-Pierre's message of 6 May 2025: How can I know if a task is using AVX-512? My new main computer is compatible but I don't know if my tasks are really being processed with AVX-512. Also, how big is the speed bump compared to more regular instructions? In late June there will be a windows version of the sievers using AVX-512. At the moment only the linux version is available. Check list of applications at https://escatter11.fullerton.edu/nfs/apps.php. |

Has the AVX-512 application for Windows been released yet? I don't see it in the applications page. |

Not yet although it is on Greg's to-do list. |
